About the Artist
Born in New York, Mr. Hawley studied film,
photography and writing at Boston University and U.C.L.A..
He began taking pictures in the early 60's when his passion
began and has worked as a photojournalist and fashion photographer
in New York City for the past 18 years. He has photographed
numerous portfolios around the world for more than 30 years,
including Dreamscapes and The Wine Makers.
Mr. Hawley started his film career making
commercials with famed cinematographer Conrad Hall. His
feature film credits include Co-Producer of the recently
completed Le Divorce starring Kate Hudson, Naomi
Watts, Glenn Close, Leslie Caron, Stockard Channing, Matthew
Modine, Sam Waterson, Bebe Neuwirth, Producer of The
Mystic Masseur with legendary Indian director Ismail
Merchant, adapted from the novel by Nobel Prize winning
author V.S. Naipaul; and Executive Producer of The Golden
Bowl, another Merchant Ivory Production, directed by
James Ivory and starring Uma Thurman, Nick Nolte, Angelica
Huston and Kate Beckinsale. Some of Mr. Hawley's other filmmaking
credits as a Producer, Screenwriter, Director and Assistant
Director include Cotton Mary, A Soldier's Daughter
Never Cries, Single White Female, Mother's
Boy's, American Heart, Slaves of New York,
Creepshow, Warriors of Virtue and River's
Edge. He will direct his new film Made in France
in Paris this spring.
